Reverend Paul A. Wiedmann, Pastor Emeritus, Queen of the Universe Parish, Levittown, died at Presbyterian Hospital, Philadelphia, on Wednesday, November 25, 2015.
Father Wiedmann was born on December 24, 1934, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He is the son of the late John A. Wiedmann and the late Marie M. Roppelt. Father Wiedmann attended Saint Matthew Parochial School, Philadelphia, and Saint Joseph’s College High School, Philadelphia, before entering Saint Charles Borromeo Seminary.
Father Wiedmann was ordained on May 18, 1963, at the Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul, Philadelphia, by Most Reverend John Krol. Father Wiedmann served as Parochial Vicar at Saint Ann Parish, Phoenixville; Saint Henry Parish, Philadelphia; Saint Frances Cabrini Parish, Fairless Hills; Our Lady of Fatima Parish, Secane; Saint Joseph Parish, Downingtown; and Holy Innocents Parish, Philadelphia. Father Wiedmann served as Pastor at Queen of the Universe Parish, Levittown, from 1990 until he retired in June 2008.
The Reception of the Body will be held at Queen of the Universe Church, Levittown, followed by a viewing. Most Reverend Robert P. Maginnis, Retired Auxiliary Bishop will celebrate a Funeral Mass for Father Wiedmann at Queen of the Universe Church, on Wednesday, December 2, 2015, at 11:00 AM. A viewing will be held beginning at 9:00 AM. Concelebrating the Funeral Mass will be Reverend Monsignor Charles McGroarty, Reverend John Franey; and Reverend John C. Moloney. Father Moloney will be the homilist.
Father Wiedmann is survived by his sister, Rita A. Belfield and nieces and nephews. Interment will be at Our Lady of Grace Cemetery, Pendel.
