The Archdiocese of Philadelphia Announces the Appointment of Ms. Andrea Mueller as the Associate Director of the Office for Ministry with Young Adults
Today, the Archdiocese of Philadelphia announced that Ms. Andrea Mueller has been appointed Associate Director of the Office for Ministry with Young Adults (OMYA) effective March 18, 2024.
The OMYA is part of the Office for Faith Formation for Youth and Young Adults (OFFYYA). It was established by Archbishop Nelson J. Pérez in July 2020 to engage and accompany young adults as Missionary Disciples for Jesus Christ in the world around them. The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) broadly defines young adults as people from all walks of life aged 18-39.
Ms. Mueller will work in close collaboration with Reverend Timothy Tarnacki, O.S.P.P.E., the Director of the Office for Ministry with Young Adults (OMYA), on programs and initiatives.
Father Tarnacki remarked, “I’m thrilled that God called Andrea to serve as the Associate Director of the OMYA and that she has responded to this call with an open heart. Andrea is bringing an inspiring desire to serve the Lord and the Church of Philadelphia.”
He continued, “She comes to this role with deep experience in young adult ministry. She is currently the Director of Fellowship and Service for the Philadelphia Chapter of Young Catholic Professionals, a premier young adult ministry with a national scope. Andrea also brings gifts to the office regarding organizing and coordinating service opportunities. She has done this very successfully at Saint Joseph’s University while coordinating the Magis Weekly Service Program, amongst other ministries. Our entire staff at the OFFYYA is pleased to welcome Andrea as part of the team and we look forward to what she will bring through her leadership to the young adult community in the Archdiocese.”
Ms. Mueller noted her gratitude in accepting this role, “It is a gift from God to join both the OMYA and the vibrant outpouring of the Holy Spirit that is occurring in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. I am extremely grateful for this opportunity to serve our Church and cultivate ministries that foster a culture of encounter with Christ for young adults in all walks of life.”
