Saint John The Evangelist Parish in Center City Philadelphia to Celebrate the Transitus of Saint Francis of Assisi
Saint John the Evangelist Parish in Center City Philadelphia will hold an evening service to commemorate the Transitus of Saint Francis of Assisi, his passing from earthly life to eternal life. The Transitus is a Franciscan devotion celebrated annually on October 3rd, the eve of Saint Francis of Assisi’s Feast Day.

All people of goodwill are invited to join the Capuchin Franciscan Friars and the Secular Franciscan Brothers and Sisters in the Upper Church for a liturgy that will include prayers and readings chosen from the writings of Saint Francis. Members of the Saint John the Evangelist Parish Choir will provide uplifting music. Light refreshments will be available after the service.
