Rouse, Permanent Deacon Daniel J.
Retired Permanent Deacon Daniel J. Rouse, died on June 2, 2023, he was 84 years old.
Deacon Rouse was ordained at the Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul on June 3, 1990, by His Eminence Cardinal Anthony Bevilacqua. He was assigned to Saint John Bosco Parish, Hatboro, where he remained until his retirement in January 2013. He also served as the Deputy Secretary for Catechesis, representing the Bucks County Region.
In 1970, Deacon Rouse received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Saint Joseph’s University. In 1975, he received an MBA from Rutgers University. Deacon Rouse was employed as a Regional Vice President for Wells Fargo Bank, and later as a business manager – first at Saint John of the Cross Parish, Roslyn, until the parish closed in 2014, and then at Saint John Bosco Parish, Hatboro, until May of 2020, at which time he retired.
Deacon Rouse was married to his wife Susan Jean (nee Flammer) for 60 years. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Timothy; three daughters, Jeanine; Jennifer; and Jessica; as well as eight grandchildren.
Reception of the body and visitation will be held on Saturday, June 17, 2023, beginning at 8:30 AM followed by his Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM, at Saints John Bosco Church, 235 E. County Line Road, Hatboro. The principal celebrant will be Most Reverend Michael J. Fitzgerald, and the homilist will be Reverend Gary J. Kramer. Concelebrating will be Reverend Monsignor James D. Beisel, and Reverend Angelo J. Hernandez. The interment will be private.
