The Reverend Mr. Kenneth I. Omeke, 41, son of the late Mr. Simon Omeke and Mrs. Victoria Omeke, will be ordained to the Priesthood by Most Reverend Nelson J. Pérez, Archbishop of Philadelphia.

A native of Nsukka, Nigeria, Deacon Omeke has been serving as a transitional deacon at Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish in Doylestown (Bucks County), for the past year in final preparation for Ordination to the Priesthood.

He attended the Community Primary School (1992-1997) in Igogoro and the Community Secondary School (1998-2003) in Umu-Ogbo-Uno, Nigeria.

He received his Bachelor of Arts Degree (2016) from the Claretian Institute of Philosophy in Imo State, Nigeria, and his Bachelors of Arts in Philosophy (2016) from the Pontifical Urban University, Rome. He earned his Master of Divinity (2022) and Master of Arts in Theology (2023) degrees at Saint Charles Borromeo Seminary, Wynnewood.

There are seven men from the Archdiocese of Philadelphia in the Ordination Class of 2023. Following the conclusion of Mass with the Rite of Ordination, they will be assigned to an Archdiocesan parish where they will serve as parochial vicars. A parochial vicar is a priest appointed by the Archbishop to assist the pastor of a parish.
