The Reverend Mr. Anthony J. Albanese, 37, son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas and Debra Albanese, will be ordained to the Priesthood by Most Reverend Nelson J. Pérez, Archbishop of Philadelphia.

A native of Philadelphia, Deacon Albanese has been serving as a transitional deacon at Saints Simon and Jude Parish in West Chester (Chester County) for the past year in final preparation for Ordination to the Priesthood.
He attended Saint Callistus School in Philadelphia and Amosland Elementary School (1994-1996) in Morton (Delaware County); Ridley Middle School (1996-1999) and Ridley High School (1999-2003) in Ridley Park (Delaware County).
He earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Spanish and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education from Villanova University (2008), as well as Master of Arts of Philosophical Studies (2019), Master of Divinity (2022), and Master of Arts in Theology (2023) Degrees from Saint Charles Borromeo Seminary, Wynnewood.

There are seven men from the Archdiocese of Philadelphia in the Ordination Class of 2023. Following the conclusion of Mass with the Rite of Ordination, they will be assigned to an Archdiocesan parish where they will serve as parochial vicars. A parochial vicar is a priest appointed by the Archbishop to assist the pastor of a parish.
