Pope John Paul II High School to Host 350 Elementary School Children for Annual Christmas Party

Pope John Paul II High School (PJP) in Royersford (Montgomery County) will host 350 children during its 6th Annual First Grade Christmas Party for area Catholic school children. The event is hosted by PJP’s National Honor Society and Student Council.

The high school students dress as elves and help the first graders complete Christmas crafts, write letters to Santa, and sing “Happy Birthday” to baby Jesus. The PJP Show Choir, who returned yesterday from a candlelight performance at Walt Disney World, will lead the first graders through Christmas carols in the auditorium.

Thursday, December 10, 2015
10:30 a.m. – 11:45 a.m. (Auditorium)
12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. (Cafeteria)
Pope John Paul II High School
181 Rittenhouse Road
Royersford, PA 19468 (Montgomery County)

First grade students from the following eight schools will attend the Christmas Party: Blessed Teresa of Calcutta (Limerick), Holy Cross Regional School (Collegeville), Holy Rosary Regional School (Plymouth Meeting), Mater Dei Catholic School (Lansdale), Mother Teresa Regional School (King of Prussia), Saint Aloysius (Pottstown), Saint Mary Catholic School (Schwenksville), Visitation BVM (Trooper). All of these schools are located in Montgomery County.

According to Meghan Callen, Pope John Paul II High School, Director of Marketing and Admissions, “The Christmas Party is truly a wonderful event for the high school students and first-graders alike. There is nothing like seeing Christmas through the eyes of 6 and 7-year-olds, and working closely with the little ones really helps the PJP students remember the magic they, too, felt just a decade ago.”

In addition to crafts and carols, there will be short performances of scenes from the Nutcracker and a Nativity on stage by PJP students. Santa Claus will make an appearance at about 11:10 a.m.
