Mr. Jason B. Bozzone Named President of Pope John Paul II High School
The Office of Catholic Education (OCE) and the Faith in the Future Foundation (FIF) are pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Jason B. Bozzone as the new President of Pope John Paul II High School effective July 11th. He succeeds Dr. Louis Giuliano, who vacated the position of President at the end of the 2015-2016 academic year to assume the role of Assistant Chief Financial Officer, in Educational Financial Services for OCE.
In reaction to his appointment, Mr. Bozzone said, “It is a tremendous honor to assume the presidency of Pope John Paul II High School. I look forward to furthering the mission and strengthening the identity of the Archdiocese’s newest school. I look with great anticipation to engage our students, parents, alumni, faculty, staff and community partners in an effort to have a collective impact on our goals while inspiring our next generation of servant leaders.
My spiritual and educational beliefs dovetail with the vision and mission of PJPII. I pledge to lead with integrity, passion, responsibility and vision in an intentional effort to continue fostering lifelong learners who, in turn, will go out and spark the world!”
Mr. Bozzone joins Pope John Paul II after 15 years of dedicated service in higher education, the last nine years of his professional work affiliated with Temple University. At Temple, Mr. Bozzone served in a variety of both administrative and academic roles, most recently as Assistant Dean in the College of Education. In that role, he was instrumental in creating sustainable strategic vision, mission, staffing and programming for a diverse student body and alumni. He established a track record of proven success with regard to solid partnerships across academic and student affairs departments while also delivering unprecedented results. He was responsible for leading the development and implementation of a $1 million dollar capital campaign renovation student services project. Additionally, his leadership propelled the development of new enrollment management practices and retention strategies. His innovative initiatives involved positive change reform in education, enacted through his strong partnerships with both University and community stakeholders. His contributions both within and outside of the classroom have gained him university and national recognition not only at Temple but during the early days of his career.
Prior to his time at Temple University, Mr. Bozzone embraced a variety of leadership positions related to advancement, alumni relations and student life. His previous institutions include; The University of Pennsylvania, Cabrini College and Pennsylvania State University’s Abington Campus. Mr. Bozzone is a proud graduate of Pocono Mountain High School, received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Secondary Education/Social Studies with an emphasis on Political Science from Kutztown University and a Master of Arts Degree in College Student Personnel from Bowling Green State University.
Mr. Christopher Mominey, Chief Operating Officer and Secretary for Catholic Education said, “After an extensive search conducted by the Office of Catholic Education and the Pope John Paul II School Board, we are happy to announce that Jason will join this vibrant and thriving school community in Montgomery County. He joins Pope John Paul II High School after spending the last 15 years cultivating a successful career in higher education. I am confident his solid leadership skills and managerial experience combined with his passion for Catholic education will maximize the potential of the newest secondary high school in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia.
Mr. Bozzone was born in the Bronx, New York and raised in the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania. He and wife Melissa DiNofia-Bozzone have three children (Peter, age 9 Sophia, age 7 and Madeline age 5) who attend Saint Andrew the Apostle Elementary School in Drexel Hill (Delaware County). Mrs. DiNofia-Bozzone is currently employed at The Baldwin School, located in Bryn Mawr, as Director of Advancement and Engagement. Mr. Bozzone is an avid sports enthusiast having excelled in football and baseball.
Mr. Bozzone and his wife serve as dedicated members of their Parish and current co-chairs of the Saint Andrew the Apostle $5 Million Centennial Capital Campaign. He is a Counselor for Temple University Kappa Delta Pi International Honor Society, a member of Lambda Chi Alpha National Fraternity and long-standing baseball coach for Drexel Hill and Llanerch Hill teams. The Bozzone family is actively engaged in awareness and fundraising efforts for children who are deaf or hard of hearing in support of their daughter Madeline. They are appointed board members on the Clarke School Leadership Council for Pennsylvania.
The Bozzone’s served as Co-Chairs of the Inaugural Clarke School Listening Walk at the Philadelphia Zoo, held this past May. Their family mantra to “make a difference in the lives of others” applies to both their professional and volunteer endeavors.
