This nationally recognized program is conducted locally in partnership with the Upper Darby Police Department and began at Bonner & Prendie during the 2021-2022 school year.
During the ceremony the fall semester cohort for the 2022-2023 academic year will receive recognition in front of their families as well as Bonner & Prendie Administrators; Upper Darby Mayor, Barbarann Keffer; Upper Darby Police Department Superintendent, Timothy Bernhardt; and officials involved with the program who guided students through the program.
A second cohort of approximately 35 students will begin the program in late January and are anticipated to graduate from TAPS in late May 2023.
The TAPs Academy is a program designed to build lasting and meaningful relationships and close the gap between teens and law enforcement.
