Following the Rosary Rally, Mr. Bob Farrington, a representative from the Ancient Order of Hibernians (AOH) Dennis Kelly Division 1 Delaware County, will present an award to the full Bonner & Prendie school community for their participation in the Hibernian Hunger Project Food Drive Contest. In addition, they will be honored for raising the most amount of food during the contest—over 3,000 pounds. The food collected by the Bonner & Prendie community was donated to Murphy’s Giving Market in Upper Darby (Delaware County). Archbishop John Carroll High School in Radnor (Delaware County) and Cardinal O’Hara High School in Springfield (Delaware County) also participated in the contest.

During the presentation, Mr. Farrington will be joined by Ms. Desiree Lamarr-Murphy, founder of Murphy’s Giving Basket who will speak to those gathered about the impact their efforts have had on hunger in the community and the continued need for the school’s support. Doctor Len DiPaul, (P`98`01, Bonner & Prendie) and Mrs. Jennifer Sullivan, (`84 P`10`16, Bonner & Prendie) both Bonner & Prendie Board Members and Advisory Board Members of Murphy’s Market will be present, in addition to other members of the AOH and Murphy’s Market Board Members.

The school’s Community Service Corps (CSC) coordinated their participation in the food drive and will receive the award on behalf of the school. CSC is a student-run organization that is moderated by Mr. Matthew McShane, a Math teacher at the school.

Archdiocesan secondary schools and parish and regional elementary schools through the five-county region raised over 12,500 pounds of food for the AOH Dennis Kelly Division 1 Delaware County sponsored Hibernian Hunger Project initiative.
