Members of the Archdiocesan Class of 2024 Earned a Record-Breaking $532,160,153 in Scholarships to Attend Colleges and Universities Across the Country
Mr. Jay DeFruscio, Chief Operating Officer for Secondary Schools in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, unveiled the cumulative scholarship total earned by the Archdiocesan Class of 2024.
This year’s graduating seniors amassed a record-breaking $532,160,153 to further their educational journeys at colleges and universities across the country.
In making this announcement Mr. DeFruscio said, “I congratulate the members of the Class of 2024 for their hard work and achievements.” He continued, “Now it is my honor to reveal the record breaking grand total in scholarship dollars earned by the young men and women of the Class of 2024 in our high schools throughout the five county region.”
The announcement was made via video and includes images from commencement proceedings at all 15 Archdiocesan high schools. The message was shared on the Archdiocese of Philadelphia Schools (AOPS) social media platforms on Facebook and on Instagram.

In addition, Archbishop Nelson J. Pérez recently shared an end of year message to all Archdiocesan school families, faculty, staff, and administrators, and especially to the Class of 2024. In it he said, “I applaud you as you celebrate graduation. You have worked so hard and achieved so much in the classroom, on the playing fields, through extracurricular activities, and in service to your communities. Congratulations to you and all those who have supported you along the way!”
