Lansdale Catholic High School Girls’ Basketball Team to Play in Their First Ever PIAA 4A State Championship

Lansdale Catholic community to cheer team at Pep Rally before they depart for Hershey.

The Lansdale Catholic High School Girls’ Basketball Team (LC) from Lansdale (Montgomery County) will contend for the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association (PIAA) Girls’ 4A Championship when they play Archbishop Wood High School from Warminster (Bucks County). This is the first appearance in the State Championship for the LC Girls’ Basketball Team.

The entire LC school community will be present for the Pep Rally as well as the school’s Cheerleading Team, who recently won the 2022 PIAA 2A Small Division State Championship for the second year in a row.  The Pep Rally will take place ahead of the game on Thursday, March 24 at 5:00 p.m.

The game will be televised live on the Pennsylvania Cable Network (PCN) pcntv.com/basketball/.

The LC Girls’ Basketball Team is 19-7 overall and is led by Junior Guard Gabby Casey who scored her 1,000th point this season during the 2nd round game against Allentown Central Catholic. This is Head Coach Eric Gidney’s fourth season at LC. 

In addition, the Saints John Neumann and Maria Goretti High School Boys’ Team from South Philadelphia will play in the PIAA 4A State Championship game on Thursday, March 24 at 7:30 p.m. against Quaker Valley High School from Leetsdale (Allegheny County). The Cardinal O’Hara High School Girls’ Basketball Team from Springfield (Delaware County) will compete for the PIAA 5A Championship when they play Chartiers Valley High School from Bridgeville (Allegheny County) on Friday, March 25 at 5:00 p.m. The Saints John Neumann and Maria Goretti High School Girls’ Team will play in the PIAA 3A Championship game on Saturday, March 26 at 12:00 p.m. against Freedom Area Senior High School from Freedom (Beaver County).  The Archbishop Wood High School Boys’ Basketball Team will play in the PIAA 6A Championship game against Roman Catholic High School at 7:30 p.m.
