Clancy, Permanent Deacon Kenneth P.
Retired Permanent Deacon Kenneth P. Clancy, died at home on July 1, 2022. Deacon Clancy is survived by three daughters: Jeanne Clancy; Carolyn Clancy: and Rosemarie Stanley; as well as two granddaughters: Riley and Hilary. He is predeceased by his wife, Carol, who died on March 19, 2022.
Deacon Clancy was ordained on May 24, 1987, at the Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul by the Most Reverend Martin M. Lohmuller. He was assigned to Epiphany of Our Lord Parish, Plymouth Meeting, where he remained until his retirement in 2014.
Deacon Clancy was born in Bronx, New York. He attended Fordham University, where he graduated in 1952 with a degree in mathematics. Deacon Clancy entered the United States Marine Corps and served a tour of duty in Korea during the Korean War. In 1954, he married his wife, Carol. After a brief stint at John Hancock, Deacon Clancy began working for Univac in New York City. When Univac moved their corporate headquarters to Blue Bell in 1962, Deacon Clancy moved with their family to Pennsylvania. In the late 1960s, Ken joined Keystone Computer Associates where he spent the remainder of his career. In 2002, Deacon Clancy earned a Master’s Degree in Scripture from Saint Charles Borromeo Seminary.
Reception of the body, and visitation will be held on Friday, July 22, 2022, beginning at 9:30 AM, followed by his Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM with Most Reverend Timothy C. Senior as main celebrant at Epiphany of Our Lord Church, Plymouth Meeting. The homilist will be Reverend Jeffrey M. Rott. Concelebrants will include Reverend James J. Kelly and Reverend Thomas D. O’Donald. The Deacon of the Mass will be Deacon Emil J. Wernert. Interment will take place at a later time.
