Catholic Housing and Community Services Partners With St. Mary Medical Center in Langhorne (Bucks County) To Provide Services to Senior Citizens
Senior citizens and caregivers in Bucks County and the surrounding area who are in need of aging-in-place resources and services are receiving a boost thanks to a partnership between Catholic Housing and Community Services of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia (CHCS) and St. Mary Medical Center in Langhorne.
The newly launched St. Mary Family Caregiver Center, located on the campus of St. Mary Medical Center, aims to connect older adults and care givers to local resources and services to help senior citizens successfully age-in-place in their community.
Ms. Heather Huot, Director of CHCS and Ms. Suzanne O’Grady Laurito, Assistant Director of CHCS along with CHCS Geriatric Care Managers were recently on hand for a special blessing and ribbon cutting ceremony for the opening of the new Center. They were joined by Dr. Lawrence Brilliant, President of St. Mary Medical Center; Dr. Naomi McMackin, Vice President & Chief Medical Officer, Quality Health Alliance; Lil Schonewolf, Vice President Community Health & Well-Being, Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic; as well as other representatives from St. Mary Medical Center and Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic.
Heather Huot, Director of CHCS said, “Catholic Housing and Community services is thrilled to expand upon our relationship with St. Mary Medical Center and Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic with the Family Caregiver Center. Together, we are a robust team that offers comprehensive support to older adults and their loved ones through this innovative resource.”
The creation of the St. Mary Family Caregiver Center will benefit older adults by providing assistance with medical, social, legal, financial, and safety needs, as well as other critical resources so seniors can live high-quality, independent lives. Dedicated CHCS Geriatric Care Managers will provide geriatric assessments.
Lisa Kelly, St. Mary Director of Community Health & Well-Being & Volunteer Services said, “It was wonderful working with Catholic Housing and Community Services to bring the St. Mary Family Caregiver Center to life. We are so excited to help senior patients and their caregivers by providing resources they may not know they have available to them, as we continue to provide much-needed services for older adults in our community during this pandemic and beyond.”
The St. Mary Family Caregiver Center is located on the ground floor off the main lobby of St. Mary Medical Center. For more information or assistance, please call the St. Mary Family Caregiver Center at 267-638-7424.
