Catholic Housing and Community Services of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia Celebrates Older Americans Month
This May, Catholic Housing and Community Services of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia (CHCS) is celebrating older adults across the five-county Philadelphia region by participating in Older Americans Month. This year’s theme is “Communities of Strength.”
Caring for older adults and seniors is at the forefront of CHCS’ mission. Through its longstanding commitment and extensive experience with service to seniors, CHCS is recognized as a leading provider of senior living services throughout the Philadelphia region.
Last year, CHCS served nearly 7,035 older adults through its senior programs including senior housing, senior community centers, parish-based eldercare management programs, in-home support programs, senior helpline, and senior clubs.
In reflecting on the observance, Ms. Heather Huot, director of CHCS, said “This past year, our older adults have been resilient, facing the isolation of a global pandemic and overcoming significant challenges. This year’s theme for Older Americans Month truly captures the tenacious spirit of our older adults. CHCS is proud to be a part of this community of strength.”
On its Facebook and Twitter pages, CHCS will be highlighting its commitment to older adults, and sharing vital resources, programs, and services for seniors and loved ones. CHCS will also be sharing stories showing the strength, resilience, and optimism of the older adults it has served throughout the last year.
The month-long observance is hosted annually by the Administration for Community Living.
