Reverend John J. Bradley, Pastor Emeritus, Saint Aloysius Parish, Philadelphia, died on Sunday, June 7, 2020.
Father Bradley was born on September 27, 1928, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He is the son of the late Patrick Bradley and Catherine (Sweeney) Bradley. Father Bradley attended Saint Hugh Parochial School, Philadelphia; Northeast Catholic High School, Philadelphia and Saint Joseph’s College, Philadelphia, before entering Saint Charles Borromeo Seminary.
Father Bradley was ordained on May 18, 1963, at the Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul, Philadelphia, by Most Reverend John J. Krol. Father Bradley served as Parochial Vicar at Saint Charles Borromeo Parish, Drexel Hill; Our Lady of the Rosary Parish, Philadelphia, Our Lady of Lourdes Parish, Philadelphia; Saint Robert Parish, Chester; Saint Therese of the Child Jesus Parish, Philadelphia; Holy Child Parish, Philadelphia; Our Lady of Mercy Parish, Philadelphia; Epiphany of Our Lord Parish, Philadelphia; and Immaculate Conception Parish, Jenkintown. He served as Pastor, Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish, Philadelphia and Parochial Vicar, Immaculate Conception Parish, Levittown. In 1994, Father Bradley was appointed Pastor, Saint Aloysius Parish, Philadelphia, and named Pastor Emeritus there in 2000. He then served as Chaplain, Saint Agnes Medical Center, Philadelphia, until his retirement in 2003.
At the request of his family, funeral services for Father Bradley will be private.
