Archdiocese of Philadelphia’s #iGiveCatholic Initiative Raises More Than $1.6M for 101 Catholic Charitable Ministries, Schools, and Parishes

The Archdiocese of Philadelphia and The Catholic Foundation of Greater Philadelphia partnered to support this national Catholic Day of Giving for the fourth consecutive year.

PHILADELPHIA, December 7, 2023 – More than 7,870 benefactors helped raise more than $1.6 million to benefit the good works of 101 parishes, schools, and charitable ministries of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia.

In addition, the Catholic Charities Appeal of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia and the Saint Charles Borromeo Seminary Appeal placed first and second respectively for most dollars raised throughout the country as part of this national Catholic fundraising initiative.

Archbishop Nelson J. Pérez said, “It gives me great joy to share that iGiveCatholic was a huge success for the parishes, schools, and charitable ministries of our local Church again this year! I am filled with deep and prayerful gratitude for the generosity of all those who gave to this initiative. As a result of your kindness, we raised more than $1.6M for 101 beneficiaries.

While dioceses throughout the country participate in this uniquely Catholic fundraising endeavor, the Philadelphia region was a standout! Our Catholic Charities Appeal ranked first in the nation by raising $540,628.53 and Saint Charles Borromeo Seminary ranked second in the nation by raising $478,074.90 through iGiveCatholic this year alone.

Thank you to all of those who continue to make iGiveCatholic a success. Since we began taking part in 2020, you’ve contributed more than $6M to support the good works of our local Church! May God bless you and your Advent journey abundantly.”

The Archdiocese of Philadelphia partnered with The Catholic Foundation of Greater Philadelphia (CFGP) to participate in #iGiveCatholic for the fourth consecutive year.

#iGiveCatholic is celebrated annually on #GivingTuesday, which follows Thanksgiving, Black Friday, and Cyber Monday. #iGiveCatholic is a Giving Day that kicks off the charitable season and brings the Catholic community together to give thanks and give back. The Archdiocese of Philadelphia joined CFGP in promoting this special, faith-based giving day for the first time in 2020. #iGiveCatholic is celebrated by more than 40 (Arch)dioceses located across the country.
