Editor’s Note: The Solemnity of the Ascension of the Lord commemorates Jesus Christ’s ascension into Heaven. It is observed annually on the 40th day after Easter Sunday of the Resurrection of the Lord and ten days prior to Pentecost, the coming of the Holy Spirit. It is normally a Holy Day of Obligation. The faithful are dispensed from the obligation this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
