West Catholic community to hold “Clap-Out” celebration as team departs for Hershey.
The West Catholic Preparatory High School Boys’ Basketball Team will contend for the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association (PIAA) Boys’ 3A Championship when they play Trinity High School in Camp Hill (Lower Allen Township). This is West Catholic’s second consecutive and third overall appearance in the state finals.
The team will gather and walk the hallways of the school lined with students who will clap and cheer on their classmates starting from the top floor and working their way down to the first where the team will walk out the front doors of the school.
Conal Brown, the school’s Assistant Principal of Student Life, will lead the players and coaches in prayer prior to their departure for the game on Saturday, March 21 at 2:00 p.m. at the Giant Center in Hershey.

The West Catholic Boys’ Basketball Team has an overall record of 16-12 this year. On March 17, the Burrs defeated Notre Dame-Green Pond in the 3A Semifinals. The team claimed the District XII 3A title with a win over Universal Audenried Charter High School.
The game will be aired on the Pennsylvania Cable Network (PCN) pcntv.com/basketball/.
