West Catholic Preparatory High School Boys’ Basketball Team to Play in PIAA 3A State Championship Game

West Catholic community to hold “Clap-Out” celebration as team departs for Hershey.

The West Catholic Preparatory High School Boys’ Basketball Team will contend for the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association (PIAA) Boys’ 3A Championship when they play South Allegheny High School from McKeesport (Allegheny County). This is West Catholic’s second appearance in the State Championship game.  

The team will gather and walk through the hallways of the school starting from the top floor and working its way down to the first where the team will walk out the front doors of the school to board the bus for their game.

The West Catholic Cheerleaders will lead the procession. Prior to boarding the bus, Kelly Foley, Director of Campus Ministry, will lead everyone in a prayer for safety.

The contest will take place on Saturday, March 29 at 2:00 p.m. at the Giant Center in Hershey (Dauphin County).

On March 22, the West Catholic Burrs edged Holy Cross in the 3A Semifinals. The team claimed the District XII 3A title with a win over Universal Audenried Charter High School from the Grays Ferry section of Philadelphia.

The game will be aired on the Pennsylvania Cable Network (PCN) pcntv.com/basketball/.
