The year 2026 is the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States of America. In honor of this occasion, the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) are planning two national initiatives. The first is a solemn act of consecration of the United States of America to the Sacred Heart of Jesus in June 2026. The second is a National Eucharistic Pilgrimage in which the Blessed Sacrament will be carried in procession through the east coast of the USA, culminating in Philadelphia on July 2-5, 2026.

National Eucharistic Pilgrimage, July 2-5, 2026
at the Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul, Philadelphia

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS

Thursday, July 2
Reception of the Most Blessed Sacrament to the Archdiocese of Philadelphia

  • 7:00 PM – Young Adult event
  • 8:00 PM – Continuous Adoration through July 4 at 5 PM – Click here to sign up for time slot(s)
    • Adoration of the Most Blessed Sacrament, following the Young Adult  event, will take place round the clock from Thursday evening July 2, through Saturday afternoon, July 4, at 5:00 PM.  Adorers will come from all over the region with an encouragement/opportunity for families, parishes, clergy, religious and all types of groups to keep an hour of adoration. Adoration materials will be provided.

Friday, July 3 (Legal Holiday) 
Day of Service Flowing from the Graces of the Eucharist

This day provides for regional events and opportunities for service with explicit connections to the Eucharist, “Go and announce the Gospel of the Lord.”  Parishes and institutions will be invited as well to make this connection with possible service opportunities.

  • 11:30 AM – Sacrament of Penance and Reconciliation in the Basilica.
  • 12:05 PM – Sung Mass in the Basilica

Saturday, July 4
Day of Adoration and Prayer for the United States of America

  • Adoration continues throughout the day until 5:00 PM – Click here to sign up for time slot(s)
  • 10:00 AM – Showing of the Cabrini Film, Drexel Hall at the Cathedral Basilica – Click here for tickets
  • 11:30 AM – Sacrament of Penance and Reconciliation in the Basilica
  • 12:05 PM – Sung Mass in the Basilica
  • 1:00 PM – Showing of the Cabrini Film, Drexel Hall at the Cathedral Basilica – Click here for tickets
  • 3:30 PM – Showing of the Cabrini Film, Drexel Hall at the Cathedral Basilica – Click here for tickets
  • 4:15 PM – Sacrament of Penance and Reconciliation
  • 4:30 PM – Family Rosary Across America, Relevant Radio
  • 5:00 PM – Adoration concludes

Conclusion of the National Eucharistic Pilgrimage

Regular Cathedral Parish Liturgical Schedule
Masses:  8:00 AM, 9:30 AM, 12:30 PM (Spanish) and 6:30 PM
Sacrament of Penance and Reconciliation: 9:00 AM, 12:00 Noon and 5:30 PM

  • 11:00 AM Solemn Mass at the Cathedral Basilica and Eucharistic Procession
    • Following Mass, the Eucharistic Procession will take place to Saint Peter Church (Shrine of Saint John Neumann) at 5th Street and Girard Avenue, Philadelphia, PA. The procession will move from the Cathedral Basilica north on 18th Street to Vine Street, east on Vine Street to Broad Street, north on Broad Street to Girard Avenue, east on Girard Avenue to 5th Street.
    • Benediction of the Most Blessed Sacrament will conclude the Eucharistic Procession at Saint Peter Church.
    • An indoor and outdoor social follow the conclusion of the Eucharistic Procession.

  • 11:00 am Misa solemne en la Catedral Basílica seguida de una procesión eucarística hasta la Iglesia de San Pedro (Santuario de San Juan Neumann)
  • Recepción tras la conclusión de la procesión eucarística

El horario litúrgico de la Catedral Basílica se mantiene sin cambios para las misas y confesiones programadas.
