The Archdiocese of Philadelphia’s All Catholic Concert Band to Perform Annual Concert

Eighty students representing Archdiocesan Secondary Schools and private Catholic High Schools throughout the five-county region have been selected to participate in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia’s 2026 All Catholic Concert Band and to perform in the annual concert.

This year’s All Catholic Concert Band, is under the direction of guest conductor, Dr. Philip Simon, Associate Professor of Music Emeritus, Wilkes University in Wilkes-Barre (Luzerne County). Mr. Charles Keating, Chairperson, Arts Department, Bishop Shanahan High School (Chester County), will serve as the Festival host.

Students from Archdiocesan Secondary Schools including Archbishop John Carroll High School in Radnor (Delaware County); Archbishop Ryan High School in Northeast Philadelphia; Archbishop Wood High School in Warminster (Bucks County); Bishop Shanahan High School in Downingtown (Chester County); Cardinal O’Hara High School in Springfield (Delaware County); Conwell-Egan Catholic High School in Fairless Hills (Bucks County); Father Judge High School for Boys in Northeast Philadelphia; Saint Hubert Catholic High School for Girls in the Tacony section of Philadelphia; Lansdale Catholic High School in Lansdale (Montgomery County); Monsignor Bonner & Archbishop Prendergast Catholic High School in Drexel Hill (Delaware County); Pope John Paul II High School in Royersford (Montgomery County); and Roman Catholic High School for Boys in Philadelphia will participate.

Students from private Catholic High Schools including Gwynedd Mercy Academy High School in Lower Gwynedd (Montgomery County); Holy Ghost Preparatory School in Bensalem (Bucks County); Martin Saints Classical High School in Oreland (Mongtomery County); Merion Mercy Academy in Merion Station (Montgomery County); Mount Saint Joseph Academy in Flourtown (Montgomery County); Nazareth Academy High School in Northeast Philadelphia; Saint Joseph’s Preparatory School in North Philadelphia; and Villa Joseph Marie High School in Holland (Bucks County) will also participate.

 The students will perform pieces selected from O Magnum Mysterium by Morten Lauridsen; Fanfare and Flourishes for a Festive Occasion by James Curnow; The High School Cadets by John Philip Sousa; Cumberland Cross by Carl Strommen; and Calle Arriba by Gregory D.V. Holmes.  

Four Year awards will be presented to Victoria Buzzanca, Gwynedd Mercy Academy High School in Lower Gwynedd (Montgomery County); Charlotte Hiscott, Cardinal O’Hara High School in Springfield (Delaware County); Brigid Infanti, Mount Saint Joseph Academy High School in Flourtown (Montgomery County); Allison Lon, Archbishop Wood High School in Warminster (Bucks County); Michael Mastroddi, Monsignor Bonner & Archbishop Prendergast Catholic High School in Drexel Hill (Delaware County); George Schaffer, Bishop Shanahan High School in Downingtown (Chester County); and Keira Surace, Cardinal O’Hara High School in Springfield (Delaware County).

Tickets are $10.00 and can be purchased online or at the door.  Children 12 and under are admitted free.
