Students from Notre Dame de Lourdes Catholic Elementary School Gift Outdoor Furniture and Games to Don Guanella Group Home

The group home is part of The Communities of Don Guanella and Divine Providence and the Developmental Programs Division of Catholic Social Services of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia.

A Don Guanella group home for adults with intellectual disabilities recently received a gift of new outdoor furniture and games thanks to the generosity of 4th and 5th grade students at Notre Dame de Lourdes School in Swarthmore (Delaware County).

Teachers and students organized a “Crazy Sock Day” fundraiser and selected the Don Guanella residence as the beneficiary of the fundraiser. Donations went toward the purchase of patio furniture and outdoor yard games including ring toss, bean bag toss, and wiffle ball among other items.

The group home, located on the grounds of the former Notre Dame de Lourdes Parish in Swarthmore (Delaware County), is one of 26 community-based residences for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities operated by Catholic Social Services of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia (CSS).

The items were delivered to the residence by students complete with colorful, hand-made signs featuring summer-themed messages and well wishes.
