Saint John’s Hospice To Celebrate 6th Annual Fall Fling Gala At The American Swedish Historical Museum

This annual event serves as the principal fundraising effort for Saint John’s Hospice (SJH).

Saint John’s Hospice (SJH), a ministry of Catholic Social Services of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia (CSS), will host its 6th annual Fall Fling Gala with dinner, auctions, music and entertainment at the American Swedish Historical Museum.

Mr. Fred Gigliotti, Director of Emergency and Temporary Housing, Office of Homeless Services of the City of Philadelphia will be the evening’s special guest speaker.

This year, SJH will honor The Worker’s Compensation Section of the Philadelphia Bar Association with the SJH 2019 Partner in Mission Award. It is being presented for dedication and continued support of SJH’s mission to provide crucial, life-sustaining services with dignity, respect and compassion to homeless men in Philadelphia. The Community Service and Charitable Events subcommittee of the Section organizes volunteers to serve lunch at SJH Day Services Program, as well as provides a Thanksgiving lunch to the SJH Day Program residents each year.

This award is presented annually to an individual or organization whose work and mission aligns with that of the Saint John’s Hospice and the Good Shepherd Programs.

All proceeds will benefit the Saint John’s Hospice Residential Program, Coffee House and Day Services Programs, as well as its Good Shepherd Program, a residential program offering housing and social services to homeless men who are medically fragile.

For over 55 years, SJH has provided provide crucial, life-sustaining services with dignity, respect and compassion to men experiencing homelessness in Philadelphia. Each weekday, Saint John’s provides more than 300 hot meals, as well as case management, on-site nursing, daily showers, and a mailroom for over 1,300 men. Each year, it provides residential services for over 250 men transitioning from homelessness to independent living in the community.
