Philadelphia FIGHT will be presented with the SJH 2018 Partner in Mission Award for its dedication to healthcare, research, and advocacy for people living with HIV. This award is presented each year to an individual or organization whose work and mission aligns with those of the Saint John’s Hospice and the Good Shepherd Programs.

Philadelphia FIGHT provides culturally competent comprehensive primary care, and state of the art HIV primary care to low income members of the community, along with research, consumer education, advocacy, social services and outreach to people living with HIV and those who are at high risk, including family members, communities with high rates of HIV, formerly incarcerated persons, and young people at risk; and access to the most advanced clinical research in HIV treatment and prevention.

Independence Blue Cross will be presented with the SJH 2018 Community Impact Award for its dedication to service and vision of outreach that enables their employees to give back and impact their community in meaningful ways. This award is presented to a corporation whose outreach and support allows Saint John’s to better serve people experiencing homelessness in Philadelphia.

For over 55 years, SJH has provided life-sustaining services with dignity, respect, and compassion to men experiencing homelessness in Philadelphia. Each weekday, Saint John’s provides a hot meal for more than 300 men, as well as case management, on-site nursing, daily showers, and a mailroom for over 1,300 men. Each year, it provides residential services for over 250 men transitioning from homelessness to independent living in the community.

All food for the evening will be generously provided by Tootsie’s Salad Express of the Reading Terminal Market.
