Saint Edmond Senior Community Center to Host 100th Birthday Party Celebration for Member

Saint Edmond Senior Community Center, operated by Catholic Housing and Community Services of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia (CHCS), will host a 100th birthday party celebration for one of its members, Mrs. Flossie Hines.

Senior center members and dedicated staff from CHCS will be in attendance. The festivities will include refreshments, birthday cake, and more.

Located in the Point Breeze section of South Philadelphia, Saint Edmond Senior Community Center is one of four such centers operated by CHCS. They offer opportunities for socialization, recreation, physical exercise, education, and nutritional support with a focus on overall health, wellness, and independence.

About Mrs. Flossie Hines

Mrs. Flossie Hines was born in Andrews, South Carolina on October 9, 1924 and moved to the Philadelphia area in the early 1940s. Mrs. Hines was married to the late Otis Hines and is blessed with one daughter, two granddaughters, and one great-grandson. She is a longtime member of Zion AME Church and served as an election official and school volunteer. She is renowned for her exceptional butter pound cakes and is a proud member of Saint Edmond Senior Community Center. Her contributions have earned her numerous awards throughout the years. Mrs. Hines’ life is guided by Ephesians 4:7: “But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ.”
