The Saint Charles Borromeo Award, given by the Board of Trustees of Saint Charles Borromeo Seminary, is presented annually to those who lead impactful lives of service and humility. The Clarks have selflessly given their time, talent, and treasure to serve the community and offer an outstanding example of servant leadership in imitation of the life of the Seminary’s patron, Saint Charles Borromeo.
Most Reverend Nelson J. Pérez, Archbishop of Philadelphia, will be in attendance. He will be joined by Most Reverend Timothy C. Senior, Chancellor of Saint Charles Borromeo Seminary and Auxiliary Bishop of Philadelphia; Reverend Keith J. Chylinski, Rector of Saint Charles Borromeo Seminary; seminarians; benefactors; and friends.
Mr. Clark is the former Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Merck. Mr. and Mrs. Clark are committed volunteers and generous benefactors to several non-profit organizations and are parishioners of Our Lady of Guadalupe, Doylestown.
Background on Saint Charles Borromeo Seminary
Founded in 1832, Saint Charles Borromeo Seminary has been forming men for priestly service in the Catholic Church for 190 years. In August 2022, the seminary enrolled 133 seminarians including 29 new seminarians. Of these 29 new seminarians this year, 11 are studying for the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, and there are 68 total seminarians for the Archdiocese of Philadelphia studying at St. Charles. With the generosity of many, these young seminarians are able to successfully transform into the compassionate and loyal priests and inspiring leaders of tomorrow’s Church.
