This event commemorates the 31st anniversary of the enthronement of Señor Santo Niño de Cebú.
Faithful throughout the Archdiocese of Philadelphia and beyond are invited to join Saint Augustine Catholic Church in Olde City Philadelphia for the 2023 Summer Sinulog Festival.
This annual celebration is held in honor of Señor Santo Niño de Cebú, the Holy Child Jesus venerated as miraculous by the Filipino community.
The Most Reverend Timothy C. Senior, Bishop of the Diocese of Harrisburg and former Auxiliary Bishop of Philadelphia, will serve as the principal celebrant and homilist at the Mass of Solemnity.
The Very Reverend Robert Hagan, O.S.A., the Prior Provincial of Saint Thomas of Villanova Province, will concelebrate the Mass.

Following Mass, faithful will participate in veneration of the replica of Señor Santo Niño de Cebú and a liturgical procession through the streets of Old City Philadelphia.
About Señor Santo Niño de Cebú
Devotion to Señor Santo Niño de Cebú was originally brought to the Philippine Islands by Augustinian missionaries in 1535. On January 11, 1992, a statue of Santo Niño was installed at Saint Augustine Church.
In July 1994, the Augustinians in the Philippines commissioned an official replica of the original statue of Santo Niño to be permanently enshrined at Saint Augustine. The statue symbolizes the unity of faith of the people and Augustinian Friars in the Philippine Islands with the people and Augustinian Friars in the United States.
An annual feast honoring Santo Niño called “Sinulog” is celebrated on the third Sunday in January in the Philippines and at Saint Augustine Catholic Church. Due to the cold weather in January, the Filipino Catholic Community of the Delaware Valley celebrates the Summer Sinulog on the third Sunday in August, close to the feast of Saint Augustine, which occurs on August 28th.

It is the National Shrine for devotion to Señor Santo Niño de Cebú in North America. Saint Augustine was the first permanent establishment of the Augustinian Order in the United States and has a rich history with deep roots in the Philadelphia community. Additionally, it is the Parish of choice for many Filipino-Americans in the Philadelphia area.
