The Archdiocese of Philadelphia’s Office of Catholic Education will host the championship round of the Archdiocesan Elementary School Religion Bee.

Thirteen students attending parish and regional elementary schools from throughout the five-county region will compete for the Archdiocesan championship following their progression through local and regional religion bees.
The competition will be streamed live on the Archdiocese of Philadelphia Schools’ Facebook Page @AOPSschools.
Religion Bees were held at 63 parish and regional Catholic elementary schools and private Catholic elementary schools throughout the five-county region. Students in grades five through eight at all schools were eligible to participate.
Two preliminary rounds featured competition among 63 students. The first round was held on Wednesday, February 21 at Archbishop Ryan High School (ARHS) in Northeast Philadelphia. The second round was held on Thursday, February 22 at Cardinal O’Hara High School (COHS) in Springfield (Delaware County).
The final round will include seven students who participated in the Religion Bee held at ARHS and six students who participated in the Religion Bee held at COHS.
The finalists competing for the championship include:
- Megan Bell (8th Grade) representing Our Lady of Mercy Regional Catholic School in Maple Glen (Montgomery County);
- Erin Duffy (8th Grade) representing Cardinal John Foley Regional Catholic School in Havertown (Delaware County);
- Emily Griffin (8th Grade) representing Saint Dorothy Parish School in Drexel Hill (Delaware County);
- Colin Horan (8th Grade) representing Queen of Angels Regional Catholic School in Willow Grove (Montgomery County);
- Amanda Howard (8th Grade) representing Saint Hilary of Poitiers Parish School in Rydal (Montgomery County);
- Cecilia Kohlenberg (8th Grade) representing Sacred Heart Parish School in Havertown (Delaware County);
- Isabella Malave (6th Grade) representing Saint Peter the Apostle School in Philadelphia;
- Aiden Marino (8th Grade) representing Saint Genevieve Parish School in Flourtown (Montgomery County);
- Hannah Pham (7th Grade) representing Saint Agnes Parish School in West Chester (Chester County);
- Brady Sirkin (6th Grade) representing Saint Mary Magdalen Parish School in Media (Delaware County);
- Grace Terzella (7th Grade) representing Saint Katharine Drexel Regional Catholic School in Southampton (Bucks County);
- Akeem Twegby (8th Grade) representing Saint Jerome Parish School in Philadelphia; and
- Francesca Welty (8th Grade) representing Nativity of Our Lord Parish School in Warminster (Bucks County).
