Nutritional Development Services of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia Launches Annual Holiday Food Drive and Christmas Card Initiative

Nutritional Development Services has provided food and food-related resources to those in need throughout the Greater Philadelphia region for nearly half a century.

Nutritional Development Services of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia (NDS) is launching its annual Holiday Food Drive and Alternative Christmas card initiative to benefit those throughout the five-county metropolitan area who are in need and facing hunger.

Information About the Holiday Food Drive

For over 25 years, NDS has hosted its holiday food drive to counter hunger in the five-county area during the Thanksgiving and Christmas seasons. Last year, approximately 15,600 pounds of non-perishable food was collected through this effort.

Those interested in helping our neighbors in need can support NDS’ Community Food Program by purchasing items online now through Friday, January 7th at https://yougivegoods.com/holidayfood2021.

All goods donated will help stock the shelves of NDS’ network of 50 food cupboards throughout the Greater Philadelphia region for the fall and winter months including five food cupboards operated by Catholic Social Services of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia (CSS); five soup kitchens; and numerous community outreach programs.

NDS is also partnering with Parish and Regional Elementary Schools and Archdiocesan High Schools throughout the five-county region as part of this hunger relief effort.

Information About the Alternative Christmas Cards

In addition, NDS is sponsoring its Alternative Christmas Cards for the 2021 holiday season. This initiative aims to provide an alternative to individuals and families who wish to send non-secular Christmas cards all while raising funds for our hungry neighbors. The Christmas cards are sold in packs of 10 cards for $15.00 or 20 cards for $25.00. Each card features a note as a representation of the donation made to help our neighbors in need saying, “This Christmas greeting represents a donation made in your name to help feed and empower the needy of our area.”

All proceeds directly benefit NDS’s network of food cupboards and will be used to purchase food to stock shelves. For more information or to purchase cards, please click here.
