Today, Catholic Charities of Philadelphia (CCoP) announced the appointment of Mr. Steve Colestock as Chief Human Resources Officer. Mr. Colestock’s appointment formally takes effect on October 20, 2025.
Mr. Colestock will work closely with the Catholic Church of Philadelphia’s Human Resources Office to build, lead, and sustain a cohesive, mission-driven Human Resources model across all CCoP program areas.
In making this appointment, Secretary and Executive Vice President for CCoP Mrs. Heather Huot said, “We are thrilled that Steve will be stepping into this new role as Chief Human Resources Officer. This is an important step in our strategic vision of empowering our employees, that will lead to a stronger, more resilient workforce.”
In reaction to this appointment, Mr. Colestock said, “I am humbled and honored to serve Catholic Charities of Philadelphia as Chief Human Resources Officer. Background Regarding Mr. Steve Colestock
Since 2018, Mr. Steve Colestock has held several positions of increasing responsibility within CCoP’s Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) Services including Director of Human Resources (2018-2020) and Senior Director of Human Resources (2020-2022) for The Communities of Don Guanella and Divine Providence.
Most recently, he has served as the Senior Director of Human Resources for IDD Services, which includes Saint Edmond’s Home for Children and The Communities of Don Guanella and Divine Providence. There, Mr. Colestock centralized and led human resource operations including human resource oversight of over 975 employees and 12 human resource staff and developed and implemented the first comprehensive human resource strategic plan, integrating talent development, employee engagement, and professional development initiatives.
Prior to his time at CCoP, Mr. Colestock served as Human Resources Recruiter (2011-2015) and Human Resources Manager (2016-2018) for Melmark in Berwyn (Chester County).
Mr. Colestock holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Management from West Chester University and a Master of Science Degree in Human Resource Development from Villanova University. In addition, he is certified as a Professional in Human Resources, a Society for Human Resource Management Professional, and a Wellness Recovery Action Plan Facilitator.
Mr. Colestock is currently a member of Our Mother of Consolation Parish in the Chestnut Hill section of Philadelphia. He is also a volunteer and advocate at iHi International and a Human Resource Development Mentor at Villanova University.
