Ordination to Transitional Deaconate is the final step prior to Ordination to the Priesthood. Transitional Deacons will serve in parishes for one year as they also complete their studies toward eventual ordination as priests next year. Their diaconate ministry is one of transition and a part of the normal progression to the priesthood.
The Rite of Ordination will take place during Mass following the Liturgy of the Word.
Those being ordained as Transitional Deacons are: Bernard Okechukwu Ekeagwu, Gregory H. Miller, and Brendan R. Zehner.
- Bernard Okechukwu Ekeagwu, 29, son of Sir Patrick C. Ekeagwu and Lady Esther N. Ekeagwu of Nigeria.
- Gregory H. Miller, 26, son of George and Teresa Miller of Royersford, Pennsylvania.
- Brendan R. Zehner, 30, son of Mark and Peggy M. Zehner of Glenside, Pennsylvania.
