Following Mass, Bishop Deliman will bless the school’s new playground. Its construction was made possible through local fundraising efforts and will be used by students ages 2 to 12.

MTC was recently named a 2022 National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence by the United States Department of Education (USDOE). It is one of two Catholic elementary schools in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia to receive the honor this year. The USDOE will hold a recognition ceremony for this year’s Blue Ribbon Schools in November in Washington, D.C. Representatives from MTC will be formally recognized at that time.

In 2021, MTC was among the 23 parish and regional elementary schools recognized by the Archdiocese of Philadelphia’s Office of Catholic Education as an Archdiocesan School of Distinguished Instruction for Growth and Exceeding Potential. Recognition for Growth was determined by comparing the Normal Curve Equivalent (NCE) score from the 2021 testing to the NCE examinations taken by students in the previous academic year. MTC students consistently score above the national average in math and reading in the Terra Nova standardized achievement tests.
