*Media Advisory* Nutritional Development Services of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia to Host Free Community Food Distribution— Archbishop Nelson J. Pérez Will Greet Families and Distribute Meals

This community food distribution is one of several organized by Nutritional Development Services in recent months in an effort to continue the fight against hunger amid COVID-19.

Nutritional Development Services of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia (NDS) is hosting a free drive-through community food distribution in Center City for individuals and households facing food insecurity stemming from the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

Archbishop Nelson J. Pérez will join dedicated NDS staff and volunteers for a portion of the event and assist with food distribution.

 NDS will have approximately 590 food boxes on hand containing milk, meats, cheeses and vegetables. The pre-packaged food boxes are funded by the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) “Farmers to Families” Food Box Program.

NDS will also have 750 free student meal boxes containing seven breakfasts and seven lunches along with milk available for children and youth ages 2-18 years old who are attending school virtually and not receiving school meals.

No registration, ID, or qualifications are required. Cars are asked to pull into the entrance of the Archdiocesan Pastoral Center parking lot located off 17th Street and exit onto 18th street. Walk-ups will also be accommodated.
