Catholic Housing and Community Services of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia (CHCS), in partnership with Philadelphia FIGHT, will hold an on-site vaccination clinic and provide approximately 60 COVID-19 vaccines to its Saint Edmond Senior Community Center program participants. CHCS and Philadelphia FIGHT are working with SunRay Drugs Specialty Pharmacy to bring these vaccines to the community.
The senior center, one of four operated by CHCS, is located in the Point Breeze section of South Philadelphia and provides a broad range of services for those 60 years of age and older in the community.

CHCS also plans to distribute vaccines to members of its three other senior centers in Philadelphia in the near future. Senior residents at CHCS’ five affordable housing communities located in Kensington, Port Richmond, and South Philadelphia will also receive door-to-door doses of the vaccine.
This effort is one way CHCS is continuing to care for older adults amid the ongoing pandemic. Since the onset, CHCS has provided ongoing support including distributing Grab-and-Go meals to older Philadelphia residents; connecting those in need with social services; rent, mortgage, and utility bill assistance; emotional support and more. CHCS’ senior centers also transitioned to virtual programming as a way to continue fostering overall senior health.
Wednesday’s clinic is not open to the public and is for CHCS’ Saint Edmond Senior Community Center program participants only. Older adults or loved ones throughout the five-county area who are in need of assistance with the vaccination registration process are encouraged to call CHCS’ Senior Help Line at 1-888-679-7669.
