Little Flower Catholic High School for Girls Welcomes Mrs. Molly Quinn as Assistant Principal for Student Life

Mrs. Quinn is a product of Catholic education as are her parents who dedicated their lives to educating young people in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia.

Little Flower Catholic High School for Girls (LFCHS) in the Hunting Park section of Philadelphia recently welcomed Mrs. Molly Quinn, as Assistant Principal for Student Life (APSL).

Mrs. Quinn is a proud product of Catholic education. She attended Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Elementary School in the Port Richmond section of Philadelphia and John W. Hallahan Catholic Girls’ High School.  She also comes from a family of Catholic school educators; both of her parents dedicated their lives to the mission of educating young people.

Mrs. Quinn brings over 20 years of experience as an educator to her new role as Little Flower’s APSL. She will guide a student-centered approach based on the charism of Saint Thérèse of Lisieux, the school’s patron, leading to the development of the whole child in order to fulfill LFCHS’ mission of directing a young women’s growth to be “faith-filled, college and career ready and independent”.

Mrs. Quinn will also provide leadership in the area of student co-curricular and extra-curricular programming aligned with the school’s mission and curriculum. She will also be responsible for infrastructure systems for student attendance, discipline, counseling services, health, and transportation.  Along with other members of the school’s administrative team, she will work to provide professional development opportunities for faculty and staff as well as student program innovation to compliment the academic programs. In addition, Mrs. Quinn will engage the community through marketing and recruitment efforts by showcasing the broad spectrum of student opportunities at LFCHS.

Mrs. Molly Quinn said of joining Little Flower Catholic High School for Girls as Assistant Principal for Student Life, “I am committed to the availability of an all-girls Catholic education within the city of Philadelphia.” Mrs. Quinn went on to say, “It made me who I am today!”

Mrs. Quinn’s mother and father met while they were teachers at Holy Innocents Catholic School. Mrs. Geraldine Marie (Gushue) Murphy, is a 1965 graduate of LFCHS. Mrs. Murphy dedicated over 55 years of her life to the vital ministry of Catholic education in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia and the Diocese of Trenton, New Jersey.  She served as an educator and principal at several schools including: the former Holy Name of Jesus School in the Fishtown section of Philadelphia; and the former Saint Bartholomew School in the Wissinoming section of Philadelphia before retiring in 2021 from Saint Anselm School in the Northeast section of Philadelphia, Mr. William F. Murphy, dedicated close to 40 years to the Archdiocese in a variety of roles. In 1970, as a Brother of Charity, he taught for two years at the former Cardinal Dougherty High School, before he moved to the former Holy Innocents School. Mr. Murphy went on to teach at the former Saint William School in the Lawncrest section of Philadelphia and Nativity B.V.M. School in the Port Richmond section of Philadelphia.

Little Flower Catholic High School for Girls is a welcoming and diverse community that empowers young women to recognize and develop their God-given potential, to deepen their faith, and to grow in awareness of their moral responsibilities to one another, and to the global community through a comprehensive program, which promotes academic excellence, integrity, and generous service.
