1929 – 2015
Reverend Howard K. Krick, Retired, Resident, Saint Francis Center for Rehabilitation and Healthcare, Darby, died at Vitas Hospice, Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital, on Wednesday, March 25, 2015.
Father Krick was born on July 28, 1929, in Central Falls, Rhode Island. He is the son of the late Thomas S. Krick and the late Emma M. Brophy. Father Krick attended Lawton Grade School, Philadelphia, Northeast High School, Philadelphia, and Roman Catholic High School, Philadelphia, before entering Saint Charles Borromeo Seminary.
Father Krick was ordained on May 15, 1958 at the Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul, Philadelphia, by Most Reverend John F. O’Hara, C.S.C. Father Krick served as Parochial Vicar at All Saints Chapel, Philadelphia; Saint Laurence Parish, Upper Darby; Saint Maria Goretti Parish, Hatfield; and Resurrection of Our Lord Parish, Philadelphia. Father Krick served as a Military Chaplain in the United States Air Force from 1966 through 2003 at which time he returned to the Archdiocese of Philadelphia.
The Reception of the Body will be held in the Chapel of Saint Francis Center for Rehabilitation and Healthcare, Darby, on Wednesday, April 1, 2015, at 9:00 AM, followed by a viewing. Most Reverend Charles J. Chaput, O.F.M. Cap. will celebrate a Funeral Mass for Father Krick at 10:30 AM. Concelebrating the Funeral Mass will be Reverend Monsignor James D. Beisel, Reverend Monsignor James E. Mortimer, Reverend Richard E. Rudy, and Reverend Monsignor Daniel J. Sullivan. Monsignor Beisel will be the homilist.
Father Krick is survived by his nieces and nephews. Interment will be at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Philadelphia.
