REVEREND JOSEPH DINH C. HUYNH
1940 – 2016
Reverend Joseph Dinh C. Huynh, Parochial Vicar, Saint Thomas Aquinas Parish, Philadelphia, died at Jefferson Hospital, Philadelphia, on Wednesday, November 30, 2016.
Father Huynh was born on December 30, 1940, in the Province of Ha Nam Ninh, North Vietnam. He is the son of the late Viet Cong Dinh and the late Thi Nhan Dinh.
Father Huynh was ordained on April 29, 1967, at the Saigon Notre-Dame Cathedral Basilica, Vietnam by Archbishop Paul Nguyen Van Binh. Father Huynh was incardinated into the Archdiocese of Philadelphia in 1995. Father Huynh served as Parochial Vicar at Saint Alice Parish, Upper Darby; Holy Innocents Parish, Philadelphia; Saint Carthage Parish, Philadelphia; Saint Madeleine Sophie, Philadelphia, and in 1988, he was appointed Parochial Vicar at Saint Thomas Aquinas Parish, Philadelphia
The Reception of the Body will be held at Saint Thomas Aquinas Church, Philadelphia, on Tuesday, December 6, 2016, at 4:00 PM, followed by a viewing. A parish Mass will be held at 7:00 PM. Most Reverend Edward M. Deliman will celebrate a Funeral Mass for Father Huynh at Saint Thomas Aquinas Church, on Wednesday, December 7, 2016, at 11:00 AM. A viewing will be held beginning at 9:00 AM. Among those concelebrating the Funeral Mass will be Reverend Monsignor Hugh J., Reverend Monsignor Joseph T. Trinh, and Reverend Joseph An P. Nguyen. Father Nguyen, Diocese of Camden, will be the homilist.
Father Huynh is survived by his sister-in-law, Thi Re Dinh, and nieces and nephews. Interment will be at Saints Peter and Paul Cemetery, Springfield.
