Archbishop’s Commission for Racial Healing
Founded in 2021, the Archbishop’s Commission for Racial Healing (ACRH) is an advisory body of laity, consecrated religious, and clergy that addresses the mortal sin of racism in the light of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and Catholic Social Teaching. The commission members are a richly diverse group of Missionary Disciples serving as a resource for parishes, schools, and other Archdiocesan ministries.

Archbishop’s Benefit for Children
The Archbishop’s Benefit for Children (ABC) is a year-round fundraising initiative that provides vital support for Catholic Social Services’ programs designed to care for children and young people in need throughout the Philadelphia region. They provide help and create hope for thousands of children each year, including children with disabilities, at-risk children, and dependent or court-adjudicated youth. Mass for Persons with Disabilities & the Deaf Community
The Annual Archdiocesan Mass Honoring the Gifts of Persons with Disabilities, The Deaf Community, Family, Friends and Caregivers is Sunday, March 10, 2024 at 3:00 pm at the Cathedral Basilica of SS. Peter and Paul at 18th and Benjamin Franklin Parkway, Phila. Archbishop Nelson J. Pérez will be the principal celebrant and homilist. A reception will follow the Mass. All are welcome. Charity in Action
Individuals can now sign up for the Secretariat for Catholic Human Services’ interactive monthly e-newsletter, “Charity in Action” here. It illustrates the deeply positive impact CHS has on our local communities and the good works of its three divisions—Catholic Social Services, Catholic Housing and Community Services, and Nutritional Development Services.
Archdiocese of Philadelphia Missionaries of Mercy
Missionaries of Mercy are priests commissioned by the Holy Father to promote the duty of all priests to “hear confessions and preach on behalf of and promote the Sacrament of Reconciliation.” In addition, they have authority from the Holy Father to pardon certain sins reserved to the Holy See. The Archbishop’s Commission for Missionary Disciples launched in the Summer of 2020. Since that time, the Commission has been praying, studying, consulting and planning to generate initiatives that will tap into the wellspring of grace in the heart of the Church and allow the power of Jesus Christ to transform our local Church. On September 22, 2022, the Office of Permanent Deacons released “Called to Service,” a 9-minute documentary on the Permanent Diaconate in Philadelphia.
