1933- 2021

Reverend Thomas J. Duffy, Pastor Emeritus, Saint Clare Parish, Linfield, died on Tuesday, May 18, 2021.

Father Duffy, was born on October 12, 1933, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  He is the son of the late Thomas J. Duffy and Eleanor V. Haley.  Father Duffy attended Saint Barbara Parochial School, Philadelphia, and Saint Joseph’s Preparatory High School, Philadelphia, before entering Saint Charles Borromeo Seminary.

Father Duffy was ordained on May 21, 1966, at The Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul,  Philadelphia by Most Reverend John J. Krol .   Father Duffy served as Parochial Vicar, Saint Joseph Parish, Warrington; Holy Spirit Parish, Sharon Hill; Our Lady of Fatima Parish, Secane; Saint Frances Cabrini Parish, Fairless Hills; Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish, Doylestown; Stella Maris Parish, Philadelphia; Saint Leo Parish, Philadelphia.  He served as Parochial Administrator at Sacred Heart Parish, Royersford; Saint Clare Parish, Linfield.   In 1996 Father Duffy was appointed Pastor of Saint Clare Parish, Linfield, and named Pastor Emeritus in 2003.  He also served as Senior Priest at Saint Helena Parish, Blue Bell, from 2003-2008. 

Reception of the Body will be held at Saint Helena  Church, Blue Bell, on Monday, May 24, 2021  at 10:00 A.M. followed by a viewing.  Most Reverend Edward M. Deliman will celebrate a Funeral Mass for Father Duffy at 11:00 A.M.  Concelebrating will be Reverend Monsignor Joseph J. Nicolo, and  Reverend Monsignor Francis A. Carbine will be the homilist.

Interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery in Yeadon, PA.
