D’Angelo, Permanent Deacon Ernest

1944 – 2020

Retired Permanent Deacon Ernest D’Angelo, age 75, who died Friday, June 12, 2020, at home surrounded by his family as he lost his battle with end-stage pancreatic cancer.  Deacon D’Angelo was ordained on June 11, 1995, at the Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul, by His Eminence Anthony Cardinal Bevilacqua.  He was assigned to Saint John the Baptist, Ottsville, where he remained until the end of 2019.

Deacon D’Angelo was a graduate of North Catholic High School, U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War.  Through the years he was a mason by trade and retired from masonry to work as a school bus driver for the Palisades School District for about ten years until his full retirement.

He was predeceased by his wife, Jacqueline, and his son, Marco.  He is survived by his four children, ten grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, and one brother. 

The funeral for Deacon D’Angelo was held on Monday, June 22, 2020, at Saint John the Baptist Catholic Church, Ottsville, Pennsylvania.
