Deacon Francis T. Clark, Permanent Deacon, Saint Joseph’s Parish, Ambler died on Monday May 25, 2015.
Deacon Clark was born on March 22, 1946 to the late John and Genevi�ve Clark, in Philadelphia. He was a retired theology teacher for the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. His last assignment was Archbishop John Carroll High School, Radnor. Prior to that, Deacon Clark was employed by the Office of Life and Family. Before working for the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, Deacon Clark was a sergeant with the Philadelphia Police Department. He retired after 24 years of service. He also received an MA in moral theology from Saint Charles Borromeo Seminary.
Deacon Clark was ordained on May 29, 1988, at the Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul, Philadelphia, by Most Reverend Anthony J. Bevilacqua. Deacon Clark was assigned to Saint Jerome Parish, Philadelphia, from June 1988 until June 1997. He was transferred at that time to Saint Joseph Parish, Ambler, where he has remained except for one year (2001), when he and his wife resided in Florida.
There will be a viewing will be held on Friday, May 29, 2015, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Urban Funeral Home, 1111 South Bethlehem Pike, Ambler. Reception of the body and a second viewing will take place on Saturday, May 30, 2015 at 9:00 AM at Saint Joseph Parish, Ambler, followed by the Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM. Reverend Luke Clark, OP, will be the principal celebrant and homilist. The Deacon assisting at the Liturgy of the Word will be Deacon Michael Pascarella, Jr. The Deacon assisting at the Altar will be Deacon Kenneth A. Belanger.
Deacon Clark is survived by his wife of 47 years, Eleanor (Ellie) Clark. He is also survived by three children: Reverend Luke Clark, OP (born Gregory Thomas Clark); John Christopher Clark, and a daughter, Julie Kotsiopoulos. Deacon Clark also has two grandchildren.
Interment will be at Saint Dominic’s Parish Cemetery, Philadelphia.
