REVEREND LUKE L. CHOW
1926 – 2017
Reverend Luke L. Chow, Retired, died on Sunday, June 18, 2017.
Father Chow was born on October 22, 1926, in Tsining, China. He is the son of the late Paul Chow and the late Margaret Liang. Father Chow attended school in China before entering Sacred Heart Seminary in Yenchowfu, China.
Father Chow was ordained on June 13, 1954, in the Philippines by Most Reverend Carl Weber, SVD. He came to serve in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia in 1974 and was formally incardinated into the Achdiocese on February 23, 1977. Father Chow served as Parochial Vicar at Visitation B.V.M. Parish, Philadelphia; Blessed Virgin Mary Parish, Darby; Saint Bridget Parish, Philadelphia; Saint Louis Parish, Yeadon; and Saint Michael the Archangel Parish, Levittown. Father Chow also served as Coordinator of the Chinese Apostolate.
The Reception of the Body will be held at Saint Francis Center for Rehabilitation and Healthcare, on Friday, June 23, 2017 at 9:00 AM, followed by a viewing. Most Reverend John J. McIntyre will celebrate a Funeral Mass for Father Chow on Friday, June 23, 2017 at 11:00 AM. Among those concelebrating the Funeral Mass will be Reverend Edward J. Kennedy and Reverend Thomas Dunleavy. Father Dunleavy will be the homilist.
Interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery, Yeadon.
