Chester County Parish to Pack 10,000 Meals for Needy in Africa
More than two hundred volunteers from Saint Monica Parish in Berwyn (Chester County) will participate in Helping Hands, a meal-packing program developed by Catholic Relief Services (CRS), and Stop Hunger Now, as a hands-on way for Catholics in the United States to combat hunger around the world.
2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Saint Monica Parish (Church Gymnasium)
635 First Avenue
Berwyn, PA 19312 (Chester County)
CRS will drop off several large palettes of food which volunteers will then break down into smaller portions. Their goal is to package 10,000 nutritious meal bags for needy men, women and children in the West African country of Burkina Faso suffering from food shortages and famine. CRS will educate the volunteers about the people and country they are helping and also distribute the food in Africa.
