September is National Recovery Month.
Mercy Hospice, a ministry of Catholic Social Services of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia (CSS), is celebrating National Recovery Month by hosting the Fourth Annual Mercy Hospice Recovery Walk. This initiative supports those in recovery and prayerfully remembers loved ones who lost their lives as a result of addiction.

Current and former residents along with CSS staff, supporters, and residents from other CSS housing programs will be joined by Most Reverend John J. McIntyre, Auxiliary Bishop of Philadelphia, who oversees the Secretariat for Catholic Human Services as part of his administrative and pastoral responsibilities.
The outdoor event will begin with prayer followed by a walk through Philadelphia’s Washington Square West neighborhood. The program will conclude with a light dinner at CSS’s Women of Hope located on Lombard Street.
CSS is committed to restoring and strengthening families and promoting the integral health and well-being of those who struggle with substance use disorders as well as their families and loved ones. Mercy Hospice, part of the Housing and Homeless Services Division of CSS, is a residential program in Philadelphia offering stability and hope to single women and mothers with children experiencing homelessness and in recovery from substance abuse.
