The Northeast Family Service Center (NEFSC), a ministry of Catholic Social Services of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia (CSS), will host its Second Annual Senior Community Services Fair.
Friday, June 23, 2017
10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
Northeast Family Service Center
7340 Jackson Street
Philadelphia, PA 19136
Approximately 75 older adults from the local community will attend the fair which seeks to promote various NEFSC services. The fair will also help connect seniors to other resources such as the Philadelphia Corporation for Aging, PGW, PECO, home health agencies, adult day care centers, financial and meal assistance programs, and more.
Beth Wood, a Social Worker from the NEFSC, said “Our daily work promotes socialization and enhances the well-being of older residents in Northeast Philadelphia through various senior-focused programs and case management services. We provide activities and a continental breakfast four days a week for adults age 60 and over. Bingo, Tai Chi, Zumba, and holiday parties are some of the favorite activities seniors love to participate in.”
NEFSC is the first point of contact for individuals, families, and parishes seeking assistance for seniors in Northeast Philadelphia. It is one of seven such centers located throughout the five-county metropolitan area comprising the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. NEFSC offers several additional programs that look to strengthen families and the community including: Pregnancy and Parenting Services, Cooking Matters, Clarifi, BenePhilly, and more.
