Catholic Social Services of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia (CSS) is currently collecting diapers and other baby care items to support new and expecting mothers and their families who will attend the CSS and Pro-Life Union of Greater Philadelphia’s co-sponsored “Philly’s Biggest Baby Shower” on Saturday, September 9, 2023.
“CSS is committed to offering vital pregnancy and parenting support services throughout the Greater Philadelphia Area,” said Ms. Amy Stoner, director of CSS’ Community-Based and Housing and Homeless Services Divisions. “The donated items will be provided directly to new and expecting mothers providing them with the essentials necessary to care for their families in the best way possible. We are grateful for the ongoing generosity of donors who continue to help us make a difference in our communities.”
Those interested in supporting CSS and our neighbors in need can purchase diapers, wipes, and more online through You Give Goods. Those interested in donating items directly are asked to please contact Ms. Stoner at [email protected]. All donated items will be distributed at “Philly’s Biggest Baby Shower”.
In 2022, 6,400 clients across the five-county metropolitan area received pregnancy and parenting services. In addition, approximately 10,300 diapers and baby items were distributed to families in need.
Additional modes of support through CSS include prenatal and parenting classes; events and support groups; assistance in finding appropriate medical services, referrals for other services for the needs of the women and newborn; and access to baby food, diapers, furniture, and other essentials.
