The Catholic Charities Appeal benefits hundreds of thousands of people through countless charitable service organizations and ministries throughout the five-county Archdiocese of Philadelphia.
The Archdiocese of Philadelphia is pleased to announce that for the 10th consecutive year, the Catholic Charities Appeal (CCA) has raised more than $10 million dollars. For the CCA 2022 Appeal, nearly 26,000 donors collectively raised $11,405,136.
This support was extended to over 180 programs and ministries including Education; Social Services; Evangelization, Parish and Spiritual Life; Clergy; and Local Mission Activities.
Outlined below are a selection of works of charity and mercy made possible by the support of the CCA. A full overview of the report can be viewed here.
- For the fiscal year ending June 30, 2022 the Secretariat for Catholic Human Services of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia positively impacted 608,699 adults, children, seniors, and families throughout the five-county metropolitan area.
- 54,300 personal care and feminine hygiene products were distributed by Catholic Social Services.
- Approximately 10,300 parents received essential baby care items.
- 8 million meals were distributed by Nutritional Development Services through their Community Food Program.
- Over 3,000 seniors benefitted from Catholic Housing and Community Services’ senior centers, senior housing, and parish programs.
- Around 100 students who attended one of the three Schools of Special Education within the Archdiocese of Philadelphia received tuition assistance.
In addition, the report highlights special events and initiatives that helped reach this goal including CCA Night with the Phillies, Faith and Family Night with the Union, and Project Magis. The report also includes testimony from beneficiaries and recognizes parishes that have supported the Appeal and members of Giving Societies who generously gave an annual gift of $2,500- $50,000+.
