Most Reverend Nelson J. Pérez, Archbishop of Philadelphia, will celebrate Mass for the intention of peace in the Ukraine, the Ukrainian People, and the Ukrainian community in Philadelphia this Sunday at the Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul.

WASHINGTON – Archbishop José H. Gomez of Los Angeles, president of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops has issued a statement on Ukraine:

Like so many of you, my heart aches with deep sorrow. The recent invasion of Ukraine is something we had hoped and prayed would be avoided.

Archbishop Nelson J. Pérez will be the principal celebrant and homilist at the 12:05 p.m. Ash Wednesday Mass at the Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul on Wednesday, March 2, 2022.

Faithful throughout the Archdiocese of Philadelphia are invited to celebrate the feast day of Saint Katharine Drexel with a Sung Mass at the Shrine within the Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul.

This year, Rice Bowl will officially begin on Ash Wednesday, March 2 and conclude on Holy Saturday, April 16.
