In Christian thought, justice is one of the cardinal (or “hinge”) virtues. Mercy – also a virtue – is a fruit of the great theological virtue, charity. Together, mercy and justice should guide a mature Christian’s actions, choices and words.

Archbishop Charles J. Chaput, O.F.M. Cap. will ordain seven men to the Priesthood for the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. The Rite of Ordination will take place during Mass following Archbishop Chaput’s homily.

The Rev. Mr. James J. Cardosi, son of Mr. William (deceased) and Mrs. Antoinette Cardosi, will be ordained to the Priesthood by Archbishop Charles J. Chaput, O.F.M. Cap.

The Rev. Mr. Alexander R. Gibbs, son of Mr. Philip and Mrs. Rebecca Gibbs, will be ordained to the Priesthood by Archbishop Charles J. Chaput, O.F.M. Cap.

The Rev. Mr. Steven W. Kiernan, son of Mr. William and Mrs. Ilona Kiernan, will be ordained to the Priesthood by Archbishop Charles J. Chaput, O.F.M. Cap.

The Rev. Mr. Addisalem T. Mekonnen, son of Mr. Teshager and Mrs. Tsadu Mekonnen, will be ordained to the Priesthood by Archbishop Charles J. Chaput, O.F.M. Cap.

The Rev. Mr. Kevin T. Mulligan, son of Mr. Joseph and Mrs. Elizabeth Mulligan, will be ordained to the Priesthood by Archbishop Charles J. Chaput, O.F.M. Cap.
